Using ArcGIS Topology Rules for Improving Data Maintenance for Navy PWCs Track: Defense and Intelligence Author(s): Dale Dunham The Public Works Centers in Navy Regions Japan and Hawaii had converted their GIS data maintenance process to the SDE Geodatabase environment realizing significant efficiencies. With the release of Topology rule-based editing in ArcGIS 8.3, significant process improvements have been made. This talk will present lessons-learned during the implementation of these topology rules and how these improved the overall data maintenance process with regard to data quality and time. This talk will focus on the issues associated with how the Topology rules are deployed with the SDSFIE Geodatabase model.
